INDO -TIMOR MEDICAL EDUCATION SUMMIT

Chennai, July 2024: The INDO -TIMOR MEDICAL EDUCATION SUMMIT was held at Hotel JP, Koyambedu,Chennai on 23rd July 2024,
The Deputy Prime Minister of Timor His Excellency MARIANO ASSANAMI SABINO presided as the chief guest and Her Excellency Elia A.A. Dos Reis Amara, Health Minister also participated in the summit.
Dr. Raja Thangappan & Dr. Islin J. Baskar directors for international operations & Dr.Isaac Baskar advisor of Timor Medical Colleges UNPAZ & UCT organised the summit with the objective that Indian medical aspirants can choose to study MBBS IN Timor medical colleges.
Educationists and educational consultants from the southern states of India attended the summit.
The traditional lamp lighting was done by Mrs. Candida Xiencs Vieria wife of the deputy Prime minister.
The Deputy Prime Minister of Timor in his special address mentioned that the medical aspirants from India can choose to study MBBS in Timor as we also follow Indian MBBS curriculum in Timor.
Timor has adequate infrastructure and facilities Also Timor is a peaceful and beautiful country and there is no racism. With these notes he was inviting Indian students to Timor. His invitation is significant to the students who are interested to study MBBS.
The health minister in her address stated that as Timor also enjoys tropical climatic conditions as India, similar disease spectrum exists in Timor. Because of this the Indian students shall have clinical training exposed to patients with diseases common in countries such climate.
The Deputy prime minister released the Portuguese version of the book Fillipisms written by the former DGP
Dr. Prateep V. Philip., IPS., and the copy was received by H.E. Malik cabinet from Timor.
All the participants expressed the view this summit is of Great importance as it’s the suitable option for INDIAN STUDENTS who could not get admission in medical colleges within our country.
The summit that ended with the national anthems of both India and Timor Indicates that appropriate directions are followed by the organisers, stated one of the educationists who attended.
