AG&P Pratham strengthens its natural gas network in Kanchipuram by inaugurating 2 new CNG Stations

Robust network of 31 stations to now cater to 3-wheelers, passenger vehicles, Light Commercial Vehicles (LCV) variants and buses

Chennai, 15th September, 2023: One of the leading players in the City Gas Distribution (CGD) space in India, AG&P Pratham today announced the expansion of its Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) network, by increasing its total footprint to 31 CNG stations in Kancheepuram Geographical Area. Launched as DBS (Daughter Booster Stations) in two prime localities at Chrompet, these stations will further strengthen AG&P Pratham’s commitment towards ensuring uninterrupted supply of CNG to the vehicle owners of 3-wheelers, passenger vehicles, Light Commercial Vehicles (LCV) variants, and buses.

The 30th CNG station is located inside M/s Mahalakshmi Agencies of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation at Chithalapakkam (Chrompet) and was inaugurated by Mr.Karunanidhi, MLA Tambaram, Mr.K.Kamaraj, Vice Mayor – Tambaram, Mr.E. Joseph Annadurai, Zone 2 Chairman, Mrs.Mahalakshmi Karunakaran, Dealer/HPCL, Mr. Chiradeep Datta, Chief Operating Officer, AG&P Pratham and Mr.Thirukkumaran NT, Regional Head Kanchipuram GA, AG&P Pratham.

The 31st CNG station is located inside M/s. AP Enterprises of Indian Oil Corporation at Thiruneermalai Road (Chrompet) and was inaugurated by Mr. V.C Ashokan (Executive Director – Tamil Nadu State Office – IOCL and Mr. Muthu Kumaran, Territory Co-ordinator IOCL – Sales Officers and Mr. Thirukkumaran NT Regional Head Kanchipuram GA, AG&P Pratham. Both these events witnessed the presence of the leadership team of AG&P Pratham along with CNG vehicle owners from in and around the region.

Mr. Thirukkumaran NT, Regional Head Kanchipuram GA, AG&P Pratham, expressed that “We have been very focused on expanding our natural gas distribution network across Tamil Nadu in line with the nation’s crucial goal of green energy consumption. Parallelly, we are also working towards ensuring the supply side of CNG vehicles by enabling conversion of conventional fuel-based vehicles to CNG-enabled ones with the company’s first Retro-fitment Centre, AG&P Pratham RETRO ZONE. Today, we are delighted to announce the expansion of our network with the opening of two of our stations in Chrompet area, that will serve the CNG vehicle owners and increase awareness for the usage of cleaner and green fuel. As the need for CNG continues to grow among vehicle owners, we plan to expand our natural gas network for the transport segment rapidly with 111 CNG stations by the end of eight years.”

Commenting on the benefits, Mr. Thirukkumaran NT added, “CNG vehicle owners spend less and earn more as they save fuel costs up to 45%. The engine health of the vehicle also remains efficient for longer duration, thereby gaining more mileage and overall reduction on the maintenance costs. Adding on, using CNG for vehicles reduces pollution as it has less emissions, lower carbon content and burns cleaner than other motor fuels, making it safer and better for the environment.”
